Tom MacMillan Obituary, Death – Thomas “Tom” MacMillan, 62 years old, a resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home. He was the son of Donald MacMillan, who passed away, and Effie (Willis) MacMillan, who also passed away. He was born in Brockton.
Tom earned his diploma from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in 1979, the same year his class graduated. The flight was something he wanted to learn more about, so he enrolled in the Southern Florida School of Aeronautical Engineering. After that, he spent a significant amount of time at Cannistraro working as an engineer. Tom’s professional life was marked by a high level of brilliance, which he reached thanks to his enthusiasm for aviation engineering. He was a well-rounded athlete who was particularly skilled at fishing and diving in the ocean.
Tom also enjoyed spending time outdoors and going camping, and he had a lot of fond memories of his time spent at “Camp MacMillan” near Chester, Maine. He was also instrumental in the founding of Accountability Software Systems, where he later became a principal partner. He has left a great legacy in both his professional and leisure pursuits. Tom is survived by his siblings, Donna MacMillan and her spouse Bob Orsillo of Lewiston, Maine, Paula Costa and her husband Peter of Dighton, and Michael MacMillan of Taunton, as well as his nieces, nephews, and a large number of his close friends.
Visitation will be held for him on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, which is located at 350 Somerset Avenue in Taunton. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. after that, there will be a Prayer Service held at the funeral home at four in the afternoon. The burial will be a private affair.
