Thomas Scott Obituary, Death – On the evening of Friday, March 31, 2023, Thomas Dewain Scott, who resided in Westville, Florida, passed away. He was in his eightieth year. On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., funeral services will be performed in the chapel of the Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, which is located in Geneva. The burial will take place at the Smith Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of the Geneva location of the Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home.
On Monday, April 3, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., the family will greet friends at the funeral home where the services will be held. Mr. Scott was born in Holmes County, Florida on October 28, 1942. His parents, the late Thomas Cheston Scott and the late Mathel Viola Kirkland, both predeceased him. After 52 years of devoted devotion to Dependable Metal Products, Mr. Scott resigned from the company in which he had worked as a skilled machinist.
He took pleasure in activities such as fishing, planting crops and working in his fields, and in the fall he especially liked to make homemade biscuits and cane syrup to go with them. Mr. Scott was known for his warm and selfless devotion as a friend, spouse, father, grandpa, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, Evan Scott Seay; three sisters, Maxine Pickron, Mary Ingalls, and Frankie Charles Stafford; and his grandson, Evan Scott Seay. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Scott of Westville, FL, three daughters, Kim Seay (Scott) of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Melissa Vann (Michael) of Westville, FL and Melinda Ayres (Scott) of Hartford, AL; five grandchildren, Ally Roney (Drew), Mallory Vann, Molly Vann, Jonathan Ayres, Charlotte Ayres, and Maddie Ayres; three great-grandchildren, Aden Seay, Thomas Roney and Sophia Roney; one sister, Judy Crews of Gritney, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
