Richard Conner Obituary, Death – Mr. Richard Conner, who was 78 years old and originally from Worth County, passed away in his home on March 21, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. The funeral services are going to be kept private so that only immediate family members can attend. Both of his parents, James “J.H.” Conner and Mary Frances Hope Conner, had passed away prior to his birth on February 8, 1945 in Oakridge, Tennessee.

He was the son of James “J.H.” Conner and Mary Frances Hope Conner. After devoting 26 years of his life to serve his country in the United States Army, he took his retirement from the Civil Service and departed the Marine Corps Logistics Station in Albany. He did this so that he could spend more time with his family. He did his country proud by serving in the military. Richard was active in the equestrian world and a member of the Worth County Saddle Club. He was a well-known personality in the equestrian community.

In addition to that, he spent a good deal of time working for the Albany Herald as a delivery boy for the newspaper. He enjoyed spending his free time reading, going fishing, and chugging Budweiser when he had the chance. He valued the time he got to spend with his loved ones more than anything else in the world. Richard “Shawn” Conner, his son, had already passed away before him and died in the same manner as both of his parents before he did. Among those who are still alive today are a few of his daughters: Julie Conner (Corey) of Worth County and Jo Luke (Jonathan) of Albany. In addition to his children, he is survived by his sisters, Mary Margaret and Betty June; five grandchildren, namely Kelly, J.D., Joey, Kristina, and Mark; and one great granddaughter. Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home was the funeral home of choice for Richard’s family when it came time to make funeral arrangements.
