Richard Bergskaug Obituary, Death – An unanticipated medical problem led to Richard Bergskaug’s death; the majority of the children at Shaker Regional School District knew him as Coach B or Mr. B. Bergskaug’s passing came as a shock to the students. The excellent friend, educator, coach, and mentor who was suddenly taken from the Shaker Regional School District community was a beloved member of the community. Some of you may already be aware of this fact.
Rich was the children’s number one supporter no matter where they were, whether it was on the playground or in the classroom. He went beyond what was expected of him in order to help the children. I first got to know Coach B in 2021, when he was working at BHS as an assistant coach for the junior varsity squad alongside Coach Brace. At the time, we were both working for Coach Brace. After that, as soon as he started working at CES as a teacher for students with special needs, I had the opportunity of having a number of chats with him. EVERY SINGLE ONE of the youngsters and the staff regarded him in the highest regard possible.
I can state with absolute sure that he will be greatly missed for the rest of my life because I am the father of a child that he coached and because I had the opportunity to work with him for a small period of time. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with him. Others could probably go on and on about all of his accomplishments, and I’m confident that the number of adults and children whose hearts are devastated by this news is an infinite list.
I’m sure that others could certainly go on and on about all of his achievements. Rich, I want to offer my sincerest gratitude for all of our little exchanges; it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you. There are prayers given up for him, as well as for his immediate family, friends, and most importantly, his children.
