Rex Dowie Death, Obituary – Our much loved husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend Rex Dowie passed away early this morning after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. He was a fighter, but it was a tough fight. He had been fighting the illness for some time at this point. While we tell you this information, it is with a heavy heart that we do it. At the closing moments of his life, he was supported and loved by his devoted and loving family members.
We would like to extend an invitation to members of this man’s family and friends to pay their last respects to him during the hours of 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, followed by the same hours on Monday and Tuesday, which are 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m. each day. Tomorrow, Rex will make his way back to his house to spend some time with his loved ones, after which we will welcome his extended family and friends to come and pay their respects to the remarkable guy he was.
The address of the residence is 108 Buckland Road, and it can be found in the Mangere East neighborhood. The final service to say goodbye to Rex will be held in the Chapel in the Manukau Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 29, at twelve o’clock in the afternoon. The service will be held on Rex’s birthday, March 29. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rex’s memory to the Totara hospice, which provided him with excellent medical care in his final days of life.
