This is the location of my workplace. My job is something I absolutely enjoy, and when I tell people they are considered family, I truly feel as though I have acquired a new family. Even though I didn’t know this boy, he was still somebody’s child, and that makes it sad for me.
The last two days have been tremendously emotional for me, and even though I didn’t know him. This terrible catastrophe took place on Tuesday morning, and by Tuesday afternoon, we learned that he had passed away as a result of it. Tuesday night was quite difficult for me emotionally, and I found myself crying a lot out of compassion for the family. But, I was able to pull myself together and go to work yesterday, where I performed my duties effectively. I was doing fine until I came home, at which point I burst into tears once more and couldn’t stop.
I’m not sure how to approach this situation. But I’m going to sort it out. My emotional well-being is the single most significant aspect of my life. It’s my day off, and the theme is “get your mental health together.” First, I’m going to surprise my granddaughter Lexi at the Chick-fil-A in Griffin, where I’ll also get hugs from her, and then I’m going to stop by Lacey’s house and hug her and her three boys. Finally, I’m going to go see my son and his baby and give them hugs and kisses.
Today is a “get your mental health together” day. My plan is as stated above; thus, I ask that you pray for Billy and his family. There is no simple method to break difficult news to someone. Nolan Thompson, who was the son of our Operator Billy Thompson, fell early this morning under mysterious circumstances. After Nolan was transferred to the nearby hospital, emergency medical personnel attempted to transport him to Atlanta via life-flight, but they were unable to get there in time. Our sympathies go out to Billy and all of his family members.
