Nelson Elliott Obituary, Death – We are writing this notice with heavy hearts to let you know that our father, Nelson Pearce Elliott, has gone away. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Dad died away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, in the North Bay Regional Health Centre, which is located in North Bay. He was 92 years old at the time of his passing. In the year 1925, the month of August found him being brought into the world on the fifth concession of the West Nissouri Township.
Lucy Goarley, who had been Dad’s boyhood sweetheart, passed away on January 4, 2013. The pair had been married for more than 63 years at the time of her passing. They were able to raise all five of their children, Lois and Doug MacKay, George and Aileen, Joe and Judy, Margaret and Robin Bryan, and Paul and Mary Jane, to adulthood without any difficulties. Kylie MacKay, Craig and Amy MacKay, Jason and Shelby Elliott, Jane and Bruce Pickel, Rob Elliott, Rebecca and Ryan Mailloux, Kelly and Neil McMillan, Jessica and Scott Cochrane, Joanne and Adam Hutchison, Sam and Brittany Elliott.

His 18 grandchildren will miss him terribly, His parents were William and Elizabeth, and among their other children were their sons Calvin, Murray, Bill, and Lloyd. Joanne (Jim) Myers was his first wife.
Farming was Nelson’s lifelong passion, but he was also active in local government, serving on the West Nissouri Council, as the Warden of Middlesex County, as a Member of Parliament in Ottawa representing the London–Middlesex riding, and as a member of the Thorndale Mount Olivet Lodge for the past 60 years. These positions all demanded significant time commitments on the part of the applicant.
