Martin Buell Death, Obituary – We are sorry to inform you of the passing of our Grand Master, Martin T. Buell, and do so with a heavy heart since he will be sorely missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him and work alongside him. We ask that you acknowledge our deepest condolences. This letter is being sent to you in order to deliver the tragic news that he has passed away.
The inspiration that he provides to millions of people is directly reflected in the lessons of kempo, which cover a much wider range than the capabilities of self-defense and extend into the numerous lessons of life. Moreover, the lessons of kempo are directly reflected in the motivation that he gives to millions of people. He is looked up to as an example by tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of people all around the world.
is not the sole purpose of kempo classes to instruct students in the skills necessary for self-defense; rather, the classes place an emphasis on a wide variety of essential life topics that students can use to their day-to-day lives. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to you for the guidance that you have given each of us throughout our training. In addition to expressing our deepest condolences to Mrs. Buell and the rest of the Universal Kempo Karate family, we would also like to take this moment to show our appreciation to you.
