Levi Martin Obituary, Levi Martin Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Levi Martin Obituary, Death – On Sunday, December 18, 2022, Levi Martin, age 17, who was once known to many people as Emma, went away unexpectedly at his home in Lakeville, Massachusetts. David and Kimi Martin are the proud parents of their son, Levi. On March 19, 2005, he was welcomed into the world as Emma Rachel Martin in Montgomery, Alabama. Because Levi had Swyer Syndrome, he was born with an appearance consistent with a female gender but having a male genetic make-up. This condition is known as intersex. A variety of physical and psychological problems were brought on as a consequence of this disease and the gender dysphoria that it caused. In addition to the social stigma that comes along with being intersex, transgender, and gay, Levi endured incalculable amounts of suffering up until the point where the constant anguish became intolerable.

His final letter to us was full of grace, love, and forgiveness in addition to expressions of the vast challenges he experienced, and he signed his name, Levi, which we purposefully use in his honor and ask that you do the same. He also expressed the vast problems he endured. Levi has a peculiar personality and has been described as savagely intelligent, outspoken, yet sensitive, and having a dry sense of humor. In addition to this, he was a kind and loving brother and friend, and he had a deep love for all of his nieces and nephews.

Levi is survived by his parents, Kimi (Turley) and David Martin; his siblings, Jenna (Martin) and Chris Mullen, Erica (Martin) and Spencer Ricks, Andrea (Martin) and Chris Wyss, Diana (Martin) and Duncan Larsen, Garrett Martin, Alyssa Martin and fiancé Will Harmelink; and his nieces and nephews, Landon, Mary Claire, Hannah, and Parker Mullen, Esther, Louisa, and Frederick Ricks, Cora, Lucy, Eden, and Owen Wyss, and Willow Larsen.

There will be no visitation or wake open to the general public. On Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., funeral services will be held in person at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, which is located at 280 Bedford Street in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Close relatives and friends are invited to attend. About 130 persons are the maximum that can fit in here. For those who are unable to attend in person, the funeral services will be broadcast live on Zoom (a link to which may be found on the website of the funeral home at https://www.d-mfh.com/). The memorial services will have a strong emphasis on remembering those who have passed away and may also broach the hard topics of suicide and LGBTQIA+ acceptance. We won’t be keeping calling hours this time; rather, we’ll be socializing with individuals before and after the service. In lieu of sending flowers, the Martin family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust in Levi Martin’s name. Under “Gift Designation,” select “other,” then type “GEMS” into the box that appears (Gender Multi Specialty Services).
