Julie Corkery Obituary Iowa City, Julie Corkery Has Died – Death Cause

Julie Corkery Obituary, Death – On March 26, 2023, at the age of 62, Julie Madison Corkery, who resided in Iowa City, passed away unexpectedly. At the Gay & Ciha Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1st, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, there will be a get-together to honor Julie’s life and share memories with her family and friends (2720 Muscatine Ave. Iowa City).

At the very end of the visitation period, there will be a time set aside for family members to speak, which will be livestreamed. The 14th of October, 1960 found Julie being welcomed into the world in Independence, Iowa, as the daughter of N. The Madisons’ names were Lillian (Behan) Madison and Clark Madison.

Julie first attended Saint John’s High School in Independence, Iowa, where she graduated in 1979. She then attended Mount Mercy College, where she earned her degree in 1983 and was a member of the basketball team. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she went on to earn her doctorate in psychology from Iowa State University and her clinical training from The University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Both of these institutions are located in Salt Lake City. After that, she spent the next 30 years working as a psychologist at the University of Iowa Counseling Service, the majority of which were spent in the role of Training Director. During this time period, she worked with a large number of individual clients and oversaw the clinical training of hundreds of individuals who would go on to become psychologists.

Julie had a rich and fulfilling life. She felt an immense sense of satisfaction and pride in her girls’ achievements in both the classroom and the sporting arena. She was there without fail every time. She never skipped a beat, whether it was during the sweltering and steamy softball games or the freezing cold track meets. Julie was a very inquisitive person who was always trying new things and reading. It was one of her greatest pleasures to create new memories with her family by going on vacation to other locations, going camping, and going on adventures. She looked forward to watching men’s and women’s basketball games involving the Hawkeyes with Brian every single time.

On August 13, 1983, Julie wed the man who would become the love of her life, Brian Corkery. Her marriage and the birth of her daughters, Anna (Marion, IA) and Emma (Kansas City, MO), were, in her eyes, the most wonderful things that had ever taken place in her life. Spending time with her extended family was something that Julie looked forward to with great anticipation. She is survived by her husband Brian, her daughters Anna (who is engaged to be married to Nate Walker) and Emma, as well as both of her parents, N. Her parents, Clark and Lillian Madison, of Independence, Iowa, her brothers Nick (Heidi) Madison of Phoenix, Arizona, and Matt (Teresa) Madison of Redding, California, her siblings-in-law Angie and Loren Pink of Independence, Iowa, and Debbie and Kevin Bundy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive her.
