Joyce Moyer Obituary, Death – Joyce M. Moyer is the name that many know her by. The first day of the countdown is September 10, 1941, and the last day of the countdown is April 3, 2023. At the age of 81, Joyce M. Moyer, who resided in Williamstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on the evening of Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Hershey Medical Center.
The funeral for her was held the day after she passed away. She was the daughter of the late Victor Umberger and Luella Klinger Umberger and was born in Stoystown on September 10, 1941. Her parents both passed away before her birth. Since then, none of her parents has survived to this day. She received her diploma from the institution that would later become known as the Wiconisco High School, where she had finished all of her requirements for her high school diploma.
After spending her entire career at the Tower City location of ACME Markets, beginning when the store first opened its doors and continuing until the day it was closed, Joyce made the decision to retire after spending her whole career there in the roles of head cashier and clerk. She was a member of the Williamstown location of the Twin Valley Alliance Church, and she went there on a regular basis.
She was very involved in the church’s activities, and she volunteered a lot of her time there. During her time as a volunteer for Diakon Services, an organization that provides social services, she assisted families that required in-home care and assisted those families in meeting their needs. In addition to all of those other things, she was also involved in the Lupus Foundation.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Moyer; a daughter, Beverly Hoke (John), Tower City; a son, Roger Moyer, Williamstown; two granddaughters whom she adored, Serenity Rovito (Tony), and Sierra Hoke, both of Reading; three brothers, Sonny Umberger (Janet), Lykens, Marlin “Shorty” Umberger, Wiconisco, and George Umberger (Susie), Wiconisco; a sister, Darlene Eckler (Dennis), Tower City; numerous nieces and nephews.
On the evening of Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at seven o’clock, the Twin Valley Alliance Church will play host to a Celebration of Joyce’s Life. Pastor Joel McGarvey will serve as the officiant for the event, and he will preside over the gathering as well as officiate it. The passing of Joyce occurred on the 11th of April, 2023. The church will be open for visitation in the evening, beginning at seven and continuing until eight o’clock.
