Joseph Dejoie Obituary, Death – After being reported missing for several days, a woman’s body was discovered dead in an apartment in the state of Missouri on Monday night. During a press conference, a representative from the Maryland Heights Police Department stated that investigators have a strong suspicion that Jacquelyn “Jacque” Mitchell, who was 39 years old, had been dead for at least six days before her body was discovered.
On March 14, she had been seen the last time around 11 o’clock at night, but she never returned home. Two days after her disappearance, a report was filed with the St. Charles City Police Department stating that she was missing. On Sunday, law enforcement discovered her vehicle in Maryland Heights, and the local police immediately began assisting with the investigation. A man was seen driving Mitchell’s car in a surveillance video that the detectives obtained, which provided a break in the investigation.
According to the police, they were able to positively identify the suspect as Joseph John Dejoie V, who is 49 years old. Following the execution of a search warrant at Dejoie’s apartment, the authorities discovered the deceased body of Mitchell. The reason for her passing away has not been disclosed. According to the authorities, Mitchell and Dejoie were familiar with one another, and Dejoie went to Mitchell’s apartment on March 14 after leaving a restaurant.
After the body of Mitchell was discovered, Dejoie was questioned by the police. The police claim that he admitted to trying to cover his tracks by wiping down both her vehicle and her person in an effort to hide evidence. They also claim that he admitted to being the person who was responsible for the death of Mitchell. Dejoie was charged with murder in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence, and abandoning a corpse after the victim’s body was found.
