Jerry Bradner Obituary, Longtime St. Peter’s High School Math Teacher Has Died – Death Cause

Jerry Bradner Obituary, Death – After a protracted battle with sickness, Jerry Bradner, who taught mathematics at St. Peter’s High School for many years, passed away on April 1, 2023 and was welcomed into the presence of his eternal reward. He was 59. He was born and raised in Toledo, and he received his high school diploma from St. Francis de Sales. Before beginning his career in education, Brander was a soldier in the United States Army.

In 1995, Mr. Bradner became a member of the teaching staff of St. Peter’s, where he remained until the time of his retirement at the conclusion of the 2022 academic year. He was an advisor to several student clubs at St. Peter’s, including the St. Peter’s Chapter of the National Honor Society, and he was responsible for teaching all of the upper-level mathematics classes at the school.

Mr. Bradner referred to his pupils as “yutes,” and he was always accessible to provide instruction to them. This eagerness to support his pupils lasted for many kids throughout college, when Bradner would still help to tutor his former students in college arithmetic. Bradner was a professor of mathematics.

Mr. Bradner was a mainstay at St. Peter’s School for many years. “Laurie McKeon, St. Peter’s Head of School,” remarked that the only thing that surpassed his great devotion to his faith and service to others was his ability to communicate difficult mathematical concepts to generations of children. So many people are going to miss his wisdom, leadership, and understated sense of humor, and they are mourning his passing. His influence on the people who call St. Peter’s home is extensive, profound, and long-lasting.

In a speech that he gave to the students of the Class of 2022, he advised them, “Let Mary guide your heart, and just say yes.” Do something to make a difference, whether it’s a simple action or a major undertaking… just get things done. You are going to act foolishly and run across challenges along the way. Tell Mary that you could use her assistance. Go back in there, she’ll tell you after picking you up, dusting you off, and giving you a loving kick in the butt. You are guaranteed success if you let her direct you.

Funeral preparations are still pending. Through the Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation, memorial contributions may be sent to the Bradner Family Fund for Academic Achievement in honor of Mr. Bradner. I pray that you, Lord, would bring him everlasting rest and that you’ll shower him with unending light. I pray that he finds eternal rest.
