Jeff Millard Obituary, Death – The news of Coach Jeff Millard’s passing has left all of us in a state of profound grief. He was the best friend, mentor, and coach anyone could ask for. During this trying time, we are keeping his family and loved ones in our thoughts. May you finally rest in peace, Coach. If you were ever a Raider, you will always be a Raider! Jeff served as the head coach of the varsity baseball team at Pleasant Plains High School, where he also taught social studies, from 1972 to 1977.
After that, he relocated to Morton, where he became a teacher at Morton Junior High School and a baseball coach, leading his teams to two IESA state championship victories. Jeff coached basketball at the junior high school level while he was there as well. Between the years 1978 and 2008, he assisted Norm Reiser and Steve Schupp in their role as head basketball coaches at Morton High School.
After working under Mike McDonald as an assistant baseball coach at Morton High School from 1978 to 1994, Jeff went on to become the varsity baseball coach at Morton High School from 2001 to 2012. Upon his retirement from coaching in Morton, Jeff worked alongside Matt Plummer as an assistant varsity baseball coach at East Peoria High School for the next eight years before also reaching retirement age.
