Jason Popovich Obituary, Firefighter at Toronto Fire Services Passed Away

Jason Popovich Obituary, Death Cause – From his days as a firefighter all the way up to his current position as fire chief, Jason Popovich has been a hero and a friend to all of us. He is also a devoted husband to Jenn, who is his soulmate. He had a deep affection for his friends and family. I remember phoning Poppy and telling him that Jenn and I would be moving into the condo that was directly next door to us. We were looking forward to getting together.

We would get together at the Skydome gym and put in hours of work working out like beasts. He was a hockey teammate of mine, and we frequently traveled to games together. We went on a lot of adventures together, always happy and enjoying the whole time. I can still vividly recall the chats we had about how challenging it was for him to train to become a firefighter, racing up and down the stairs in his building while carrying a loaded backpack.

As part of his preparation, he is engaging in a variety of other activities, such as weight lifting and drilling. His hard work paid off, and he was finally able to achieve his goal. What a remarkable career as a firefighter Poppy had, heroically serving all of us over the decades that have passed since then. Recent events prompted me to reach out to Poppy and offer him my support, love, and strength. We had a cordial conversation despite the rapidity with which he reacted.

I still recall that he showed me a lot of support by reaching out to ask about my hockey training adventure and spoke to me about it. This happened a few years ago.
This is a tribute to you, Poppy, our hero and buddy always…… Love you always and forever……I am thinking about you and your family and sending love, strength, and support.
