Hila Malka Obituary, Death – Hila Malka had spent her entire life in the city of Troy, Pennsylvania, where she passed away on March 8, 2009. She had reached the age of 93 at the time of her passing. Towanda Skilled Nursing Center in Towanda, Pennsylvania was where she passed away before her passing. Her parents, Fred and Hattie (Perry) DePew, welcomed their daughter into the world on September 19, 1915 in Athens, Pennsylvania. Hila DePew was named after her mother.
Shelley, who live in Troy, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. Hila was the matriarch of the Collins family. Hila served as the Collins family patriarch for many years. Her son John Sickler, who had passed died before her in 2008, as well as her eight brothers and sisters, and her two grandsons, all passed away before she did. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She devoted her life to being a Christian and began each day by reading the Bible. Her life was an example of her faith. She had been a member of the Rebekahs in the past, but at the moment she belonged to the Austinville Union Church. In the past, however, she had been a member of the Rebekahs. Hila was a devoted mother and grandmother who placed a high value on her family, particularly the relationships she shared with her offspring and grandchildren.
Gardening, food preservation (by canning and freezing), baking, and cooking were some of her favorite things to do in her leisure time. Hila is survived by her daughter, Elsie Collins, who lives in Troy, Pennsylvania; her daughter-in-law, Teddi Sickler, who also lives in Troy, Pennsylvania; her son, Gary Dewey, and his wife, Connie, who live in Omaha, Nebraska; her son, Fred Walcheski, and his wife.
Hila was the offspring of Fred and Hattie, her parents (Perry). Her mother used to go by her maiden name, Perry, before she got married. Both of her former husbands, John Walcheski and Leigh Sickler, have since passed away. She is still married to John Walcheski. Sadly, both of those people’s life had come to an end at that point in time. When the corporation was still operating under the name Preston and Jaquish, Hila worked for the organization in its Troy, Pennsylvania location as an employee.
