Gerard Mahon Obituary, Death – The sad news that Gerard Mahon, a longtime member of the club, had passed away was delivered to us this morning, and our hearts were heavy as we took in the information. Ger has been an active member of the club ever since it was founded in 1987, and he regularly participates in all of its activities. He was a member of the very first Kilkerrin United squad, where he played the position of right back, and he represented the club with distinction for many years, both on and off the field. He was a member of the very first Kilkerrin United team, where he played the position of right back.
Ger was happy to see his sons, Keith and Damian, and most recently his small grandson, Darragh, follow in his footsteps and become members of the team at Kilkerrin United. Ger was very proud of the club, and he was thrilled to see his sons and grandson follow in his footsteps. During the course of several years, he had a number of jobs, including those of player, manager, and coach, in addition to serving on the management committee. He also was a member of the committee.
It was common knowledge that he was one of the most ardent fans of his team, and people generally agreed that he was one of the most devoted fans of the club. He was well-known throughout the entire region. Ger’s absence will be keenly felt by anybody and everyone who was fortunate enough to count him as a friend throughout their lifetime. Ar dheis Dé go raibh an anam dílis. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Mary, his sons Keith and Damian, his daughters Leona, Darragh, and Cillian, his sisters Mary, Margaret, Teresa, and Ann, as well as his extended family, neighbors, and a large number of friends who were close to him.
