Gerald Gold Obituary, Death Cause – It is with a heavy heart that we must break the news to our members that Gerald (Jerry) Gold has passed away, but we must do so because we feel required to do so. It is with a heavy heart that we must break the news to our members that Gerald (Jerry) Gold has passed away. Rosemary, Jerry’s widow, broke the sad news to her this morning that Jerry had passed away earlier this morning.
Jerry had passed away early in the morning. She was taken totally and completely aback by the information that was shared with her. During the years 1982 and 1983, Jerry was the President of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). His employment extended the entirety of both of those years (at the time, this organization was known as the Bar Association of Greater Cleveland).
In addition to being a Fellow of the CMBF, he had an illustrious career as a defense attorney for all different kinds of criminal cases. His work earned him the distinction. 1954 was the beginning of Jerry’s career as an attorney, and from 1960 through 1965, he served as the public defender for Cuyahoga County.
In 1965, he decided to end his career as a lawyer and retire. Following that, he went back to working as an attorney in private practice, dedicating the most of his focus to the practice of criminal defense law. After that, he went back to working as an attorney in private practice.
During his tenure as president of the CBA, the association launched a comprehensive pro bono program in the midst of a serious crisis in the delivery of civil legal services to the underprivileged in that era. During the time that he was working in that position for the government, this incident took place.
The amount of funding that was made available to organizations that provide legal assistance, such as the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, decreased by twenty-five percent as a direct result of the budget cuts that were implemented at that time by the federal government. These cuts were a consequence of the fact that the federal government was implementing budget cuts at that time.
