Clarence Whiting Obituary, Death – Mr. Clarence Edwin Whiting was born on September 2, 1931. He was the son of the late Mr. Charles S. Whiting and Alberta I. Whiting. Both of his parents passed away before he was born. The public schools in Newport News, Virginia, were Clarence’s educational environment throughout his primary and secondary schooling. Following the completion of his education, Clarence enlisted in the United States Army. He served for a brief period of time until he was honorably discharged in the year 1952. After that, he would start working as a book binder at a local shop.

Clarence was a resident of Brooklyn, which is located in New York. During that time, Clarence started his journey of religion by being involved with the Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York. After moving back to South Carolina, he would continue to practice his faith by becoming a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church in Walterboro and the God is Moving Ministry on Johns Island. This would occur at the time that he was relocating. Clarence, who was a member of the group “God Is Moving,” frequently participated in their online ministry, and as a result, he came to be known as the “Father of Virtual Church.”

It was clear to everyone that Clarence had a deep love for the Lord. This was the one thing that could not be denied. Other organizations and affiliations he was a part of included the following: Mason of the 33rd degree and a member of the Nostrand Lodge No. 5 in Brooklyn, New York. Certificate of Royal Arch Masons from the General Grand Chapter. Clarence returned to his hometown to spend his “Golden Years” with his sister and the rest of his family after living in New York for nearly forty years.

To everyone of his family and friends, he was known as a very humble and respectful man. During the course of his illness, he was attended to by a number of caregivers, and, would you believe it, “He even begged them to marry him!” We adored him, and he was loved by his family. His legacy will live on in our hearts forever, and we do comprehend the fact that God favored him above all others. Our wonderful brother, uncle, and friend left the earthly shores of time during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, March 22, 2023, as he entered his forever rest. He was born on March 22, 2023. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted wife Amanda, his brother Charles, his sister Willie Mae, and his nephew Carl C. Ellison. His parents passed away first.
