Caesar Williams Obituary, Death – Caesar Williams Sr. was born in Newport News, Virginia on April 28, 1938. His parents were Curley Williams and Nancy Matthews Williams. He was the seventh child out of a total of ten. Greater Walter’s AME Zion Church was a place of involvement for the family. He graduated from the historic Huntington High School in 1956 after attending Booker T. Washington Elementary School and the historic Huntington High School.
He was an engaged student at both schools. Mr. Williams attended Morgan State University and received his degree in health and physical education in 1961 after majoring in the subject there. He became acquainted with the formerly known Josephine Harmon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They tied the knot on November 4, 1961, in the city of Philadelphia. Throughout the years 1961 and 1963, he was a member of the United States Army.
During the years 1965 and 1995, Mr. Williams was employed by the Family Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia as a probation officer for juveniles. After thirty years of service, he retired from his position as supervisor. Because of his position, he was able to work directly with disturbed teenagers and assist in making positive changes in their lives. In addition to that, he worked as a teacher’s assistant.
Caesar Jr., Paul Edward, and Christopher Melville Williams were the product of Mr. Williams and his wife’s fruitful efforts in the realm of family life. In the 1970s, he went back to school to get his master’s degree in counseling from Antioch College. This was after the birth of his two kids. Between the years 1970 and 1995, Mr. Williams volunteered his time as a referee in football and basketball community leagues, as well as in public and Catholic schools. His passion for health and physical education inspired him to take on this role.
He was involved in the Tri-State Board of Officials in a number of ways. He was a referee in the Atlantic Ten, the Sonny Hill League, the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association), and the Canadian Baseball Officials Association (Collegiate Basketball Officials Association). He was a member of the CIAA tennis team (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association).
