Brannon Janca Obituary, Death – Throughout the course of this week, those of us who work in the hospitality industry have been confronted with a number of challenges. The world-famous chef Brannon Janca left us yesterday, the day that yesterday was. His cherished Down Island Gulf Seafood Restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach, which will continue to serve up local love and flavor thanks to the hard work of his dedicated staff, his loving wife Stefani Pall, and his dedicated sister-in-law Lindsay Hedglin, will carry on his legacy and ensure that his name is remembered for generations to come.
Stefani Pall and Lindsay Hedglin will continue to run the restaurant after his passing. The restaurant will be managed by Stefani Pall and Lindsay Hedglin in the foreseeable future. Chef Janca is a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where his family fostered his interest in the culinary arts, art, and entertaining. He went on to become a co-founder of Stinky’s Fish Camp and a former corporate chef and partner at Word of Mouth Restaurant Group.
After completing his education at The Culinary Institute of New Orleans and honing his skills at Gautreau’s and Commander’s Palace, Chef Janca moved to Santa Rosa Beach, where he has lived and worked alongside his lifelong friend and business partner, Chef Jim Richard, for the past twenty years. Chef Janca and Chef Jim Richard have been working together in the restaurant industry for a combined total of fifty years.

In January of 2018, the Chef started looking for an old building on Highway 98, and then he and his wife spent the next few years transforming the building into their ideal restaurant after they had found it and purchased it.
The street that the restaurant fronts on provided the inspiration for its moniker. As a result of this,
