Brandon Elling Obituary, Death – Brandon Elling has died. He attended Michigan City High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business and Accounting at Purdue University. Brandon was two classes shy of completing his Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Accounting. Brandon was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He was also affectionately known as “Peanut,” “B.A.D.” and “Bran” to family and close friends, and had a great sense of humor and fashion sense, never leaving the house without being dripped from head to toe.

As a child, he loved hanging like one of the “big boys” with his Aunt Mauya, Uncle Wendell and big brother, Terrence. He loved movies and comedy, and often spent time “taking a spin around the block” to the beach to reflect and clear his head. Brandon, affectionately known as “Mr. D.” to hundreds of students, served as a Math teacher and Director of Technology at Gary Middle College in Gary, Indiana, for the past 9 years.

Brandon planned to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant and had recently launched his own accounting firm, Daniel Accounting Group, LLC. Over the next several years, B-12 went on to become part of the legendary hip hop group G.O.N., one of the first to ever do it in Michigan City.  He later became one-half of Midwikid with his long-time brother and friend Donald “M.A.G.” Robinson. At the turn of the century, Midwikid signed with Divine Mill/Arista Records and released the critically acclaimed album Something Wikid This Way Comes Brandon developed a love for music at a very early age. He began writing lyrics in elementary school, collecting years of notebooks and performing in local talent shows.
