Bob Wakelin Obituary, Bob Wakelin Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Bob Wakelin Obituary, Death – Our IHD firm has been going through a rough patch this past week due to the untimely passing of our beloved friend and business partner Bob Wakelin. He was far too young. We would like to express our sincerest sympathies to Lori, Lily, and the rest of Bob’s family on behalf of George, Jody, and Peter. Our sincere condolences come from all of us. We, along with many others, will miss you very much. Robert (Bob) Alfred Wakelin, who was 53 years old and lived in Charlottetown, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

It is with deep regret that we share the news of his departure. Husband of Lori (née Tait) Wakelin, who he adored, and father to their daughter Lily. He was the eldest son of Alfred Wakelin and Carol (Gallant) Wakelin, and he was born in Charlottetown, which is located on Prince Edward Island. Carol (Gallant) Wakelin passed away while he was young. His brothers Michael Wakelin of Charlottetown and Stephen Wakelin (Amanda) Wakelin of Hampshire, Prince Edward Island, as well as his brother-in-law Bobby Tait (Stephanie) of Salem, Oregon, are among those who carry on his legacy.

His nephew Gabriel Wakelin, as well as his two other nephews Aidan and Jack Tait, will miss him terribly. For many years, Robert was a proud member of the Prince Edward Island Ground Search and Rescue team, which he used to help his community. He was an enthusiastic participant in the Wednesday Ladder League held at the Cornwall Curling Club after developing a newfound appreciation for the sport of curling. He was devoted to his work as the proprietor of Island Surveying and Engineering and a longtime member of the Association for Prince Edward Island Land Surveys.

His many esteemed colleagues in the land surveying and engineering communities will miss him greatly. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Belvedere Funeral Home, where the deceased is resting. On Saturday, March 25, at 11:00 in the morning, a funeral service will be held in the chapel at Belvedere Funeral Home for the deceased. Donations to the Prince Edward Island Ground Search and Rescue can be donated in lieu of flowers.
