Bill Larkin Obituary, Death – On Thursday, March 30, 2023, William J. Larkin III, who resided in Blooming Grove, New York, passed away unexpectedly. He devoted his life to helping other people and going about doing good in an unassuming way. Bill Larkin, the son of William J. Larkin, Jr. and Phyllis (Galle) Larkin, was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. His father was serving in the United States Army at the time, and his mother was Phyllis (Galle) Larkin. Before moving to Newburgh with his family.
Bill lived in Maryland, Colorado, Heidelberg, Germany, Virginia, and Queens, New York. It was in Newburgh that he received his education at Sacred Heart Elementary School, Epiphany High School, Siena College, and Albany Law School of Union University. Bill is currently a practicing attorney in the state of New York. After completing his studies in law, Bill wed Nancy McDermott, the girl he had had a crush on since they were in high school. They established their home in Cornwall, and there they brought up their three kids, who were the source of much joy for him throughout his life.
Bill was an attorney in the Hudson Valley for more than 40 years, during which time he represented local residents. He went on to form the legal practice of Larkin and Ingrassia and represented clients in courts ranging from New York City to Albany, including the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, among other venues. A system of peer evaluation determined that Bill was consistently among the most accomplished lawyers in New York State.
This recognition continued year after year. These awards only put in writing what his family had learned informally from unexpected meetings with complete strangers at deli counters, soccer fields, and gas stations, where people would approach them and say things like, “Bill benefited us more than I can say. We were in a bad situation, and he was quite helpful. I have no idea what we would have done if we didn’t have him.
