Barbara Sanders Obituary, Death – A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Barbara Lee (Slack) Sanders, who passed away at the age of 74 in Tallmadge, Ohio, was a member of the Slack family. On February 1, 2023, she went to live with her Lord and Savior in heaven after passing away. Barbara’s parents, Eddie Slack and Lucy (Shelton) Slack, welcomed her into the world on September 28, 1948. In 1966, she received her diploma from East High School, and the following year, she enrolled in the University of Akron to complete her official education. She first completed her Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1970, and then went on to complete her Master of Science in Education degree in 1975.
At the Robert Street Church of God in the fall of 1976, Barbara met Daniel Sanders, who would go on to become both her closest friend and the love of her life. After getting married on June 11, 1977, they went on a honeymoon to St. Thomas, which marked the beginning of their forty-year partnership in life and travel. In 1980, Barb and Dan became parents for the first time to their cherished daughter, Erika. After another year had passed, their family was finally finished growing when Autumn, their long-awaited miracle child, was finally born.
Barbara was the ideal partner and parent. She was the best there ever was. The uplifting words she spoke, the high standards she set, and the love she gave without condition all contributed to Daniel, Erika, and Autumn being the finest versions of themselves. Barbara was there to assist them in turning their visions into a reality, whether it was the establishment of a new company or the instruction of their daughters in the art of cursive writing. Barbara was a wonderful teacher in addition to being a model wife and mother. She was a role model for all. She spent her whole professional life instructing pupils at Akron Public Schools, including Robinson Elementary, McEbright Elementary, and a number of other schools. Once she retired, she worked at Pathways Counseling & Psychological Services, where she did a great deal more than give administrative support. Barbara’s favorite thing to do while she wasn’t working was to take trips across the world with Daniel, her family, and her friends. Barbara has traveled all over the world and has seen many amazing things, including the glaciers of Alaska, the Great Wall of China, and the streets of Old Jerusalem.
